PARTICIPANTS AGREEMENT (A hardcopy must be signed by all applicants at time of payment )
WARNING: THIS LEGAL DOCUMENT AFFECTS YOUR RIGHTS
I agree to participate in Hawkesbury Triathlon Events and Races on the following basis:
1.
By participating I accept all risks necessarily following from my participation, which would result in loss of life or permanent injury. Accordingly, I release all people associated with the events from, liability (including liability for their negligence) for all injury, loss or damage arising out of, or connected with, my participation in events. For clarification, the people released include The Hawkesbury Triathlon Club Inc. and all its representative officers and agents, including event organisers, managers, volunteers and medical personnel. This release and indemnity continues forever and binds my heirs, executors, personal representatives and assignees.
2.
I acknowledge that events involve the real risk of serious injury, or risk of death, from various causes including over-exertion, equipment failure, dehydration, accidents with other competitors, spectators and the course and weather conditions, just to name a few.
3.
I understand that I should not participate in events unless I have prepared appropriately.
4. I understand that compulsory insurance cover affected for participants in events and training does not cover me for all injury, loss or damage sustained by me e.g. heart failure and muscle fatigue.
5. The sanctioning process undertaken by Triathlon NSW and safety precautions undertaken by committee members of the Hawkesbury Triathlon Club (such as course supervision, race safety, briefings) are a service to me and other competitors but are not a guarantee of safety.
6. I agree to abide by all the Rules of Triathlon NSW and Triathlon Australia, which relate, in part, to safe and fair sporting practices.
7. I certify that I am 18 years of age or older and have read this document and fully understand it.
